Countdown to Commencement: Emily Sullivan

April 1, 2024

Next to be featured in our “Countdown to Commencement” series is Emily Sullivan, a student majoring in inclusive childhood education. Sullivan was nominated by Dr. Sue Schultz, professor of education, and Sarah Mancini-Goebert, assistant director of campus ministry.

Sullivan has been an influential student during her time at 澳门六合彩官网开奖. She serves as a peer minister for the Office of Campus Ministry, was an Orientation Team leader, and also served as the chair of the 2024 Teddi Dance for Love, 澳门六合彩官网开奖’s longest running student-led tradition benefitting Camp Good Days and Special Times.  Mancini-Goebert describes her as a mentor who enjoys connecting with other students.

“Emily has been a leader on this campus in all that she is involved with. Her kindness and gentle manner, yet organized and responsible way of addressing challenges, makes her an asset and an impactful member of any leadership team or event,” said Mancini-Goebert.

With a passion for giving back, Sullivan became involved in Teddi, which she calls “a life-changing experience” during her time at 澳门六合彩官网开奖. It has allowed her to work with people in the community, meet children from Camp Good Days, and attend the Teddi Florida Trip with campers themselves. “Being able to go on this trip and seeing how truly life-changing it is for these campers…it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience,” said Sullivan.

She plans on getting her master's degree and returning to her home on Long Island to become an elementary teacher. “As a teacher, I hope to give students the opportunity to grow and flourish no matter where they’ve come from and teach them that they have the potential to do more and reach goals that they didn’t imagine they could reach,” said Sullivan.
